Brains and his buddy Wheelie are treated as pets of Sam by his girlfriend Carly.  They stay with them at her apartment.  Much smaller than the other Autobots, he is able to get into places undetected. He is essential to bringing down the main ship of the Decepticons with his sabotage skills.
