The first movie was said by Steven Spielberg to be about “a boy and his car.”  That car is Bumblebee. Bee, as Sam refers to him, finds him and makes sure that he is the first car that Sam drives. There is a special connection between a boy and his first car, and that is made clear by the seller of the car, Bobby Bolivia. With his voicebox damaged in a battle before the events of the first film, he is only able to communicate through audio samples on his radio. During the first movie, he gets upgraded from a 1977 Camaro to a concept model of the Camaro. The car model was updated for the second film, and again for the third.  In the new film, Age Of Extinction, Bumblebee will have two new car modes including a classic Camaro and a newer model version.  In battle, Bumblebee has grown from a scout to a warrior, battling against the most feared Decepticons including Barricade, Rampage, Starscream and Soundwave.
