Optimus Prime is voiced by Peter Cullen, the same man who voiced him in the original cartoon series. Optimus Prime is the leader of the Autobots, and the inspirational moral compass of the team. In the first film, he be-heads the decepticon Bonecrusher before the final battle. He then grapples with his nemesis Megatron for the All-spark cube. Optimus ends the first film by sending a message out into space, inviting all remaining Autobots to come to Earth. The second film starts out with an epic battle against Demolisher, one of the Constructicons. The second film, Revenge of the Fallen, features a forest battle where Optimus takes on all the Decepticons single handedly to protect Sam Witwicky. He eventually dies tragically in this battle. He does not stay dead for long, as Sam Witwicky recovers the Matrix of Leadership and uses it to revive the Autobot leader so he can fight The Fallen and Megatron atop the Egyptian pyramids. In the third film, Dark of the Moon, Optimus returns with a tougher look, and now has his trailer to equip him with the weapons needed for combat. Optimus Prime finds Sentinel Prime in the wreckage of the Autobot ship, the Ark, on the moon. He revives him using the Matrix of Leadership only to discover that Sentinel Prime has plans of his own. During the course of the film, he battles Shockwave, Megatron, and Sentinel Prime along with making a heroic charge into Chicago to defeat the evil Decepticons.
