Voiced by the legendary Hugo Weaving, Megatron is the tyrannical leader of the Decepticons. Megatrong does not assume an earth based alternate mode in the first two films because he does not need to disguise himself. His intent is to destroy the humans and recover the All-Spark cube. After the All-Spark cube is ejected into space from planet Cybertron, Megatron goes searching for it, only to crash land on Earth and be frozen in the Arctic. The US government finds him and brings his frozen body to the Hoover Dam, where he is kept frozen until something goes wrong, and Megatron is revived. Megatron immediately attacks the planet and send his forces to retrieve the All-Spark cube. In the final battle with Optimus Prime, he is defeated when Sam shoves the cube into his chest, thus overloading him and ending the battle. Megatron’s body is dumped into the ocean where it is thought he will stay forever. In Revenge of the Fallen, Megatron is revived by his evil army and is angrier than ever. He takes on the form of a Cybertronian tank, and plots to destroy the Earth along with his new master, The Fallen. Their plan is to uncover a hidden weapon in the ancient pyramids of Egypt. The weapon is meant to harvest the energy of the Earth’s sun. Megatron and The Fallen are defeated by a newly revived and super-powered Optimus Prime, with The Fallen being destroyed and Megatron escaping to fight again another day. That day comes in the third installment of the franchise, Dark of the Moon, where Megatron conspires with Sentinel Prime to rejuvenate Cybertron by bringing the planet close enough to the Earth to steal energy. Megatron eventually turns on Sentinel Prime when Carly convinces him that Sentinel will not let Megatron rule either planet. In the end, Optimus Prime defeats Megatron and Sentinel Prime with one arm removed. Has Megatron been defeated for the last time? Or will he return again to achieve his evil goals in the upcoming film Transformers: Age Of Extinction?
