Soundwave is the Decepticon communications officer. He usually stays behind the battle lines to direct the attacks on the battlefield. First appearing in Revenge of the Fallen, he is essential to the plans of the Decepticons. From space, he takes over a satellite and finds the location of the remaining shard of the All-Spark. He sends Ravage to retrieve the shard, the one and only thing that can revive their leader, Megatron. In Dark of the Moon, he takes the form of a sleek Mercedes-Benz, and is given as a gift to Carly so that he can track her movements with her boyfriend, Sam Witwicky. Soundwave is on the ground in the final battle in Chicago. He takes some of the Autobots hostage including Ratchet, Bumblebee and Que. He succeeds in executing Que, but is foiled before he can do away with the other Autobots. Bumblebee soon gets the best of him, and Soundwave is destroyed.
