Jazz is a valiant fighter, and second in command of the Autobots. With a fondness for urban culture, he can be seen doing moves that seem like break dancing. In the final battle of the first film, he gives a nod to the 1986 animated film by jumping in mid transformation to pull the tank gun barrel of brawl making sure that the target is missed. He later tries to stop Megatron atop a building and dies a horrible death, being ripped in half by the much larger Decepticon leader. Optimus Prime says he is saddened by the loss of his second in command, but is happy to have made new friends that day.
